The third movie is currently being shot in South Africa and once again it stars Corey Feldman. The official plot is this:

When veteran vampire hunter Edgar Frog finds himself destitute and almost friendless, he thinks his life has hit bottom; but wealthy vampire-romance novelist Gwen Liebling offers him a small fortune to go on the vampire hunt of a lifetime and rescue her son Peter from the Alpha Vampire D.J. Dusk. With the help of his friends Zoe, Lars, and Blake, Edgar heads into a bloody battle to exterminate evil.

After The Tribe I do not see how this film could possibly do well. Both Frog Brothers will be in the film, and Corey Haim will not be making an appearance at all. The story for The Thirst does not really grab me, I mean c'mon the lead vampire's name is DJ Dusk?????? And with Newlander's return are they going to keep him as a vampire or scrap the idea he was turned in the deleted scenes of The Tribe? I dont know, anyhow it is going straight to dvd as expected.

I just hope against hope that this film will be better then the dismal The Tribe. Hopefully this time they will tone down the violence, the gore and the language. Dont get me wrong I like those things at times. but one of the aspects of the original film was that it did not use these elements at all. Except for the beach scene in the original (and done brilliantly) the violence was shown very briefly and it worked. The Tribe went overboard with the violence, and I dont know how many times they dropped the f bomb. I hope they go back to what made the original brilliant and study the first film intently and make this new film enjoyable.

Who is ruining this franchise. Sounds like another crap movie to me. Dont they realize that they have to somehow pick up from the first one or just leave it be?

From what I hear, tihs will be a sequel in the timeline after the original... either the Tribe would come after it, or not exist.
