Welcome to my FAQ (frequently asked questions) page. This is a compilation of my visitors most frequent problems. Here is where you will hopefully find all the answers to your burning Lost Boys questions.

This is a combination of work from Sammy on the original Lost Cave, and my own stuff. Mostly, hers is the stuff concerning the mailing lists and Maria, but anything regarding the site, which I, Sarah, maintain and therefore have to keep updating, is my work.

The Lost Boys FanFic Mailing List Answers


  1. I liked a story I read on the fanfic list. Can I put it up on my site?
    Please ask the author of the story. Oftentimes, they will be pleased to have their story on your site! Also, if you want to forward a story to a friend, be sure you have the author’s permission first!


  2. How do I respond to messages on the list?
    One of the rules of this list is to keep discussion private, so if you want to discuss a story with its author, just hit the reply button on your email server. The sender’s address should appear. Please don’t replace it with the list’s address.


  3. Why can’t I access the message archives?
    The list archives are closed to the public. Only list members can read our archives. You must be registered with Yahoo! Groups to access the archives. Relax, it’s free. If you don’t already have an account with Yahoo, just go to http://www.yahoo.com and sign up. Then you will have to set up your email account (the one you’re subscribed to the list under, for example name@provider.com) and password with your Yahoo ID. From then on, you can go to lostboys-fanfic at YahooGroups and click on “Messages” to read the archives.


  4. Are the Lost Boys Fanfic stories archived anywhere besides the Yahoo Groups message archive?
    Sarah’s Reply Yes, here at The Lost Cave automated archive. Once upon a time, Sammy owned this site and decided that no fic with a rating above PG-13 would be archived here. Since taking over, as my original site, Lost In The Shadows, did accept higher-rated fics, I changed this rule. Carla is slowly moving everything over to the automated archive, as Of Luv and Blood is changing from a Lost Boys archive, to a more personal site for her. So basically anything that we owned between The Lost Cave, Of Luv and Blood and Lost In The Shadows is either in the automated archive, or about to be.


  5. How do I get my story archived on your site or Carla’s site?
    Sarah’s Reply You cannot have your story archived at Carla’s site any longer, but you can have it archived at The Lost Cave. Go over to the automated archive and sign up. There is a full help page over there, which will talk you through the registration process, and so forth.
