After much consideration, I decided that upgrading to version 3 was the way forward. Yes, this means you will lose karma. Yes, this means there is only one skin at the moment. Yes, I know this is going to cause problems.
But! Since I have spent several hours (the database conversion, given the loquacious nature of the posters, took over an hour and a half) and I haven't even started downloading the backup of 2.0.23 and the upload of version 3, it's still going to be several hours, please have just a little more patience, it will be worth it.
Don't believe me? Check out this comparison list of the old software's features, versus the new software.
Plus, doesn't this sound interesting?
Edited to add: The forum is back up. There is only the default skin in place at the moment – as in the default that came with the software, not the default blue of TLC. Thankfully, you guys are mostly located in the USA, so by the time you wake up and get ready to hit the forums, I may have managed to scramble something together.

The forum is down for maintenance, and will be up shortly. If you are already a member, then you will receive an email when the forum is back up, if you are not a member, you'll just have to try your luck!
Hope you like the new look. Tell me what you think.

Everything?
Yes, everything.
For awhile now, the LostCavers on the forums have been debating fiercely about the upcoming sequel, and if you've missed the hoo-har so far, the summary is that the sequel is going to be a straight-to-DVD release about surfing vampires - this bothers us for a number of reasons, the most painful is that vampires in The Lost Boys world cannot touch running water, and now they're going to be hanging 10?

Basically, the fandom is enraged that Warner Brothers are making a sequel with little or no regard for the original - and the fans. The sequel will be a straight to DVD release, meaning that they want us to buy this, and we are somewhat annoyed that they expect us to buy a movie that essentially is a mockery of the original that we love so much. I'm probably phrasing this badly, so what you really should do is have a look at our lovely Cat Lady express our views eloquently over at YouTube.
Should this get you suitably riled up - and I hope it does, because, yes, it is nice that they're finally making a sequel, but no, it's not nice that they don't really respect us or the original movie - then I suggest you do as much as you can for the cause.

However, if you do run into any problems, please post them here so that I'm aware of them and can start fixing them.
You'll notice that we've gone back to the old layout. This is because while the other was pretty, it wasn't very functional, and this one is far more straight-forward. In short, I like it better.

Things are just difficult at the moment, but I'm working on it. We moved servers today - something that never goes smoothly. I hope things clear up soon.

The problem with them is that they attract spam like nobody's business. I would be willing to host a forum, but only if I had at least three volunteers to look after it. This would be a daily task. In my experience, there's at least five new spambots joining the forums daily, and someone would have to make sure that they didn't post. Things like that. Leave a comment (making sure you include your email) or email me, if you're interested in the job.
If you don't want to be a forum mod, but would be interested in there being forums at The Lost Cave, what would you want on there? What sort of topics would you like, what other forums are cool to you, etc.
Input, please!
